Daddy's Away and the Girls will Play!

So Ryan has been away since Wednesday and again we have kept ourselves busy!

Wednesday we had our Sign and Sing class and then went to do some grocery shopping and some clothes shopping! And recieved a special phone message from Uncle Mike saying that Morgan had been born!

Morgan was born at 12:10pm and wieghed in at 7lbs 3 oz, and is 20.5 inches long. She was born larger than Mary was. I could not get over how tiny she is and have already forgotten Mary being that tiny! What a gorgeous little girl!

Thursday we had our Diaperfit class and we had girls night at Shannons! We also got to watch the Senators cream the Devils!

Friday was the start to a VERY busy 2 days. We made our way to my work for lunch and hung around with my coworkers, before going to the market to buy supplies for Shannons shower that took place on Saturday. While we were in the Market we walked past Ryans work. Mary's eyes lit up and when we passed (and did not enter) she was looking over my shoulder and looking back at me as if to ask "Why are we not going to get Daddy?" It was very cute but a little sad.... After Mary went to bed, I started to prep all the food for the shower.

Saturday, Mary and I woke up and finished decorating a cake, packaged all of the food for the Casserole Shower, food for Mary's dinner, a gift for Mike and Melissa as well as some goodies to watch the game with!

This is the cake that I made! It looked good AND it tasted good too! Gotta love KRAFT!

Below is a picture of the shower girl and Mary. Shannon is Mary's godmother and is due with her second child next week! Can't wait for the little boy to arrive. He has been causing his mom some pain over the last few weeks! Mary tried talking him in to coming out to play yesterday but it did not work!

After leaving Shannons, we made a quick stop at Mike and Melissa's before going to Allie and Phils to have fajitas and watch the hockey game. Dave and Trish also joined us, and Trish had brought the same cake Strawberry cake from Kraft. Mary got to wear her new Sens Jersey! Don't her and Allie look great?

Thank you Allie and Phil for an awesome dinner and for all your help!

So today it is Sunday and we are relaxing and laying low waiting for Ryan to get home. We are both very excited to have him home, at least for a few days! And Los Abuelitos arrive tomorrow too! Can't wait to see them! Two weeks without seeing them is a long time! Hope they have had fun though!

Love to all!

New Jersey Is A Dump!

So here I am sitting in a Starbucks waiting for my feed to finish. I've been here since Wednesday night and I am not liking it very much. I miss my Kate and Mary. I leave this pit from hell tomorrow to go home though so that's a good thing. It's not the people that are the problem here, they're great. It's the way this place is set up, it's the shabby condition of everything here, it's the fact that they built a city on a swamp!!! (They call it a "meadowlands"- It's a swamp)

We Canucks hace NO IDEA how good we have it!!!

I haven't gone for a run at all save the treadmill because you cannot run from here unless you want to run on the interstates or the turnpike! So that sucks.

Oh well. Ken and I went into Manhattan yesterday and had a good time. We went into the subways and found our way to times square and canal st. Canal st. is a place where you can buy an honest to god "Rolex" for $85.00!! No Kidding. They have Burberry of Lomdon. I don't know where Lomdon is bought they sure make nice hand baqs. Cheap too!!!

Anyway I got away without buying anything too stupid. It's hard to resist the barter though. I want to bring Kate and Mary to Manhattan next.

Gotta go!

I love my wife and my daughter and I will be in their arms in less than 48 hours.

Our little Jail Bird

I just had to post these photos......

This is what happened when I placed Mary in her crib for a nap.... I snuck in and caught her looking like a jailbird.... I could hear her singing the blues!

Oh yeah and we now have 5 teeth!

Daddy's Home and We have been BUSY Bees

It has been a few very busy and fun filled days starting with Daddy coming home on Wednesday. Mary decided that she wanted to put on a new outfit and try to squirm around on our floor as much as she could. She can push her self backwards and army crawl forwards! Yesterday she got herself up on her knees and actually moved backwards!

Thursday was a great day. We started the day by going to our Diaperfit class, which was a great workout. After the class we had to run accross town to pick up Auntie Melissa who was 3 days overdue at that point, (still no baby and she is a week overdue now!). We took Melissa to her doctors appointment and then went for a drive as we got so tied up in our conversation that we missed almost every turn we were supposed to take except for the one to take us to The Garlic King for Shawarmas! We then spent the afternoon playing with Roxy (Melissa and Uncle Mike's dog), before heading to Shannon and Josh's for Girls night!

Friday was a beautiful day and we went to the park to meet up with an old friend of mine from Saskatchewan! I had not seen Cynthia in almost 4 years. So we decided to go to the Park and introduce our kiddos to each other. Benjamin is 3 1/2 and Sam is 9 months. We had a great time playing, swinging, and walking. Mary loved being on the swings, even when a little girl decided that she needed to push the baby girl on the swing. It was very cute unfortunately I did not get a photo....
After the park, Mary and I picked up her Daddy and we went grocery shopping and to pick up some movies. We had a great low key night!

Saturday was a training walk for the Weekend To End Breast Cancer and we got to use our new jogging stroller which is amazing! Thanks Mom and Harry! Ryan, Mary, Jenny and I went for a 15 km training walk with about 150 other people. It was a gorgeous day to walk around the Canal. 1 more month of Training and then we will be walking the 60KM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our final day of our weekend brought the three of us to Montreal so that Ryan could run a 1/2 marathon! We woke up early after a not so peaceful sleep as Mary was up every 2 hours (I think she is in another growth spurt!), and jumped in the car. When we arrived in Montreal we met up with some other Team D members who were also running. Once Mary and I saw them off, we went back to the car so that Mary could eat and ended up meeting this really nice man named Stratus. He was there to support his brother who was also running. All of a sudden I realized that the first hour had passed and the rest of my plans for the morning were out the window (the race was on the same island as the Biosphere -which has live penguins AND it was free entry! I also wanted to get some pictures of the team running) but that is okay because talking with Stratus and watching the elites pass the finish line was very exciting! Even more exciting was watching Ryan beat his personal best! It was so great watching him do that and to have Mary cheer him on!

It was a wonderful weekend! We had such a good time and managed to be out in this wonderful weather with NO sunburns! Mary was slathered in 60 Sunblock and Ryan and I were in 30! Now Mary and I are off to strollercise!

Lots of Love everyone!

Sad...

It is very hard to be away from my family. Now I know what it must have been for my dad back when he wastravelling a lot. It's very hard to see my Mary holding the sign in the entry below. I miss them like crazy. It actually hurts.

Incidently I got called a communist last night. Yup! I went out for a couple of bevies and ended up talking to a republican guy (he claimed to be a teacher but with his short sighted views I don't see how he could be) and a nice couple from Philly who claimed to be democrats (the lady was also a teacher and her husband was a security company manager). Anyway, somehow we got on the topic of tax payer funded health care and the republican guy called me a communist. I said I was for publicly funded health care and he told me that Canadians were communists because we enjoyed too much govt. intervention in our lives. He added "Americans who work hard deserve to pay for what they get and we are too soft because we let welfare bums remain bums because we don't know enough to cut them off." I thanked him for the communist designation and told him he was a fool. It was pretty funny.

I will probably be home tomorrow night but it still might not be for a couple of days... who knows.

I miss my girls.

Daddy/ Hubby

We Miss the Daddy!

So Ryan is away in Pittsburgh and we are here missing him, but we are trying to stay busy!

On Saturday night we went to Christmas in April! It will a blast with GREAT food and great company... (Who knew you could cook a turkey upside down???) Mary had fun playing on Jola's floor and hiding under her chaise....

Sunday was a very low key day of not doing much but having some Mommy-daughter time... we napped, we played and we shopped! It was a fun day, which ended with me watching a cheesy girly movie and ordering in Pad Thai!

Yesterday we went for lunch with Shannon and Melissa who within the next month will both be giving Mary little playmates, and then last night we had a delicious roast dinner at Shannons. Well Mary had prunes and sweet potato and oatmeal!

Today Mary and I are going for lunch with some girls before going to our fitness class and then we have loads of Laundry to do!!!!!!!!

Hopefully the Sens will win tonight and Ryan will be home tomorrow! Mary and I both miss him terribly and are looking forward to him coming home!

This is a cute picture of our MareBear!

Where's Daddy?

So I'm in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am on the road with the Ottawa Senators and away from my family. I miss them. It's only been about 9 hours since I left them at the Ottawa airport but it feels longer. I am here until Wednesday unless the Sens/Pens series is split 2 games a piece. If that happens I am here until the end of the week possibly. However this is totaly up in the air.

I love my girls. Have I said that yet. I miss them and I will see them soon.

I bought a Michigan State Spartans hoodie. Nice.

Ryan.

Sweet Potatoes and Leafs Fans.....

Happy Easter Everyone!

So we have attempted to add sweet potatoes to Mary's meal plan... and as you can see by the photo.... She is not a huge fan. Once they were on her tongue she just stuck it out as if to say "get it off my tongue"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were out for a great Turkey dinner at Kurt and Erins house! The dinner was amazing and the following activities leads me the next story.
CLICK HERE FOR MORE SWEET POTATO PICTURES

Let me begin this story by saying that poor Mary is a very confused little girl when it comes to sports teams.... It would be great if she was able to pick out her own team right now but since she is so young she is being torn between two NHL teams... the Leafs and the Senators... Since the Leafs needed all the extra help they could get yesterday, Mary decided to dress in her Blue and Whites to help Daddy and Kurt cheer their team on. The Mom gave in, knowing that they needed more help than Ottawa did, and unfortunately after a great win last night, they were still knocked out of the playoffs. One less Canadian team........

A great time was had at Kurt and Erins, with wonderful food and great company!
All that is left to say is....
GO SENS GO!!!!!!

Happy Easter Everyone!
All our Love,
Katie, Mary and Ryan!

Diaper Fit

A few weeks ago, Mary and I started Diaper Fit. This is a class where Mary floats around in this little boat while she laughs at her Mom trying to stay afloat while doing cheerleader kicks in the water!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Below is a picture with some friends that we met.

On the Left side is Cheryl and Jack, and on our right side is Jack's Auntie Jana and Cousin Bronwyn. Mary and I met Bronwyn and Jana in our Parent and Tot swim class in January.

It's Been A Few Days...

Mary has a new hi-chair:

It's great because Mary has begun eating her rice and barley slop cereals and they can get pretty messy. Thanks to my parents for the great chair. It's actually caused us to eat dinner at the table every night instead of in front of the tv. Like a real family.

Here are a couple videos of Mary eatting and trying to figure out her sippy cup:

Katie's Auntie Bannana (Diana) was in town with Cousin Torin. They were very cute together.
Even if they were sleepy...
