It's been a while...

Hey,

It's been a while since I've posted so here goes.

Mary has been baptised. Shannon Dore and Warren Haughie are officially her Godparents. Thank you to you both.

The Baptism was great. Thanks to everyone who helped us out with the party. Mary was absolutely lovely in Marcy's dress. Thanks Marcy. We want to thank Paddy, Harry and Manon for getting the copious amounts of wonderful food together and for setting up and tearing down the room. Rev. Galachan was great and delivered a fantastic ceremony for our Mary. Dad thank you for "the tradition." I will keep it going if I ever have grandchildren and they get baptised. Thank you also to Marcela and Pablo for having the dress prepered and mended for Mary and for helping us with Mary's day.

We are sorry that everyone couldn't be there in person. We know you were there in spirit and would have been there in person if you could have.

I will be posting photos soon.

Christening Eve

Hey,

Tomorrow is Mary's Christening and we are very excited.

This is Mary's Godmother Shannon.

This is Mary's Godfather Warren.

Warren unfortunately cannot be in town so through the glory of modern technology we will pipe him in live via cell phone. It is not the perfect situation but we are happy enough just to have Warren be half of our daughter's spiritual guide. The other half of course being the lovely Shannon.

We will post Christening pictures later tomorrow or sunday.

Lot's of love,

Ryan, Kate and Mary.

Mary's Grandma Paddy and Grandpa Harry Arrive...

Paddy and Harry, Mary's west coast GPs, arrived yesterday. It is great to have them here with me going to work and Kate staying with Mary it's nice to have the support. It's also just great that they get to see there grand-daughter and give her their love.

We are having a great Paddy created dinner of chicken and roasted vegies and squarsh and such tonight. Excellent. Tomorrow is lamb of course.

P&H are only in town until the weekend when they are going to Toronto so that's no good but at least we get a week with them.

Back To Work For Real This Time!

Hey,

So this time, knowing that I had to "stay" at work today (Re: yesterdays entry) I boarded the bus with even more heavy heart. I was teary all the way to the station and dried up when I got there so knowone would see. Of course everyone was saying "hey Dad", "how's Daddy?" and such and while it felt good it made me want to cry. Manlike huh? Oh well.

I did the show from 6-9am and flew home directly after the show to scoop up my wee love and my lovely wife. It was once again a very hard thing to go back to work.

So there you have it. I am wrapped around my Mary's finger and I am loving every minute of it!

Lot's of love,

R.

I actually got up at 4am this morning and got showered and took the bus to work only to find out that today is a vacation day for me becasue of the stat yesterday!

So today will be a day of enjoying my family! (And doing laundry).

Whooooopppeeeeeeee!!!!!

Special shout-out to my girl T-Bird Matani for the fine job in scheduling!!!

Thanksgiving 2006

Happy Thanksgiving y'all.

Tonight Kate, Mary and I went to Mary's Grandparents for Thanksgiving dinner and it was great. Mary is kind of cranky lately but we think she is just having a growth spurt. Who knows. She is eating like a little maniac and crying almost as much.

We hope you all had as great a thanksgiving as we did.

Thank you to Pablo and Marcela for hosting and to Marcy for cooking the turkey. Oh and to Will (strong like bull, you know the rest) for carrying the bird. And thank you to everyone else that contributed.

We love you,

Ryan, Kate and Mary.

The 1st Lee Family Tour Draws To A Close...

Hi Everyone,

So the whirlwind tour of southern Ontario is finished and what a tour it was. We began our little soujourn at 6am on Wednesday and finished at 5:30pm yesterday. We visited 4 cities (Cambridge, Scarborough, Ajax and Oshawa), introduced Mary to 1 Aunt(Erin), 2 Cousins (Charli and Autum), 2 Great Grandparents, 1 Great-Auntie (Auntie Glenna), 1 Great Nanna (Eileen) and Mary's Godfather and his Girlfriend (Warren and Kathy) and all in 4 days.

The drive to Cambridge was long. I promised for once in my life I would drive somewhat respectfully and that made the drive feel like an eternity. I didn't mind all that much really because in the end I realized that I wasn't stressed out from passing everyone and watching for the po-po. We stopped twice on the way to feed Mary and do the diaper changes. Mary once took the wheel and tried to drive. She was after all 16 days old. I told her she had to be 16 years old to drive but that wasn't stopping her.

We arrived in Cambridge at about 4pm after a short drive chasing a Challenger truck (my sister Erin's employer) into the town of Hespler. We were to meet Erin at the Challenger offices but forgot the directions and the address so when we saw one of their trucks we just followed it until it stopped. Good thing it wasn't going far.

Finally we got to the hotel (Do Not Stay at the Travelodge Cambridge) and Erin and her girls Charli and Autum came over. We had asked Erin if we could borrow her stow and go playpen and instead she bought us one. It was a lovely gift and we were very excited for Mary to have her own playpen. Then it was off to see my little niece Charli (I call her Chuck) figure skate. She is AWESOME! Chuck is 10 years old and she is fabulously graceful. Something I never achieved on skates and I am now 34. chuck was spinning and jumping and occasionaly falling on her butt. No worries! Chuck is tough and she got right back up and tried again. I was very proud!

On Thursday morning Kate, Mary and I got back in the car and it was off to the Great Grandparents place. We spent a great couple of hours showing off the lovely Mary to Granny and Grandpa and eating pizza that my wondrful Granny bought for our lunch.

Later we were off to Mary's Godfather Warren and his girlfriend's house in Oshawa. We spent a great evening with Warren and Kathy and the next day it was off to Mary's great Auntie Glenna and Great Nanna Eileen's place. We sat and chatted and Auntie Glenna and Nanna held Mary and loved her just like everyone has.

That night we went back to Warren and Kathy's house for Raclette dinner! It was great fun. We ate and drank like royalty and then off to bed so we would be well rested for the trip home to Ottawa. We woke up Saturday and went to a fabulous breakfast spot in Whitby called the Lakeside Diner.

Then we parted ways with Warren and Kathy and drove the 5 hours home.

Mary, Kate and I would like to thank everyone who made our tour a lovely time. The love you showed us made us feel so good.

We didn't get a chance to see everyone we wanted to see (like the elephant man of Bolton--Just kiddin') but we will do it again soon so we can see you all again.

Lot's of love and thanks for the tour stops.

Ryan, Kate and Mary.

Our Kid is Great

Hi there. I just want all of you to know that our kid Mary is awesome.

Born just 13 days ago at 6lbs. 14.7oz. Mary is now 7lbs 15.5oz.

That's awesome.

We are off to Cambridge/Toronto/Ajax on Wednesday so we will update from there.
I may post tomorrow but I'm not sure.

Lot's of Love,

Ryan, Kate and Mary.

PooP!!! You Don't know from PooP!

So we've passed another challenge, I think. The Gas Challenge. Man that was scary. I don't like not knowing what to do. It is very hard, I am finding, not being able to ask Mary what is wrong. She's not much of a talker yet so it's tough.

Question:
If baby eats and eats for 3 or 4 days and doesn't have a bowel movement, how filled will her diaper be when she finaly does?

Answer:
Oh my God we're DOOMED! Grab a frickin' life jacket and a body suit and prepare to get ugly!

Our child is wonderful. Our child is great. But my lord can she poop!

Sorry. That is all for today.

Oh and by the way, putting a little baby face cloth in front of an explosive baby bum is like trying to stop a semi with a cotton ball.

Getting Sleep and Feeling Better

So yesterday Ryan and I had another bout of the worries! Poor little Mary had a bunch of gas in her little belly that would not let go. We tried to burp her and that would not work! We tried to feed her and she spit it all up and she could not pass it either (this is one of those entries that when she is a teen I am sure she will be completely embarrassed that her Mother told the whole world about - Sorry Mary!).
With lots of tears and pain and very little sleep, Mary is finally feeling better. She and I had a long nap this morning and her dad is napping now with her on his chest... For some reason she is not wanting to sleep although both of us are ready for bed! We are hoping that she will sleep soon!
We have another appointment tomorrow in which we will be able to find out how much she weighs! I am curious to know how much she weighs now... I think that she may have slowed down with her weight gain but we shall see.....
I am going to go and cuddle with my daughter now.... Hope that she falls asleep soon! Amazing that we have been going to bed early these days... it is only 9 oclock and we are ready for bed! YIKES!

Good night all!
