The 1st Lee Family Tour Draws To A Close...

Hi Everyone,

So the whirlwind tour of southern Ontario is finished and what a tour it was. We began our little soujourn at 6am on Wednesday and finished at 5:30pm yesterday. We visited 4 cities (Cambridge, Scarborough, Ajax and Oshawa), introduced Mary to 1 Aunt(Erin), 2 Cousins (Charli and Autum), 2 Great Grandparents, 1 Great-Auntie (Auntie Glenna), 1 Great Nanna (Eileen) and Mary's Godfather and his Girlfriend (Warren and Kathy) and all in 4 days.

The drive to Cambridge was long. I promised for once in my life I would drive somewhat respectfully and that made the drive feel like an eternity. I didn't mind all that much really because in the end I realized that I wasn't stressed out from passing everyone and watching for the po-po. We stopped twice on the way to feed Mary and do the diaper changes. Mary once took the wheel and tried to drive. She was after all 16 days old. I told her she had to be 16 years old to drive but that wasn't stopping her.

We arrived in Cambridge at about 4pm after a short drive chasing a Challenger truck (my sister Erin's employer) into the town of Hespler. We were to meet Erin at the Challenger offices but forgot the directions and the address so when we saw one of their trucks we just followed it until it stopped. Good thing it wasn't going far.

Finally we got to the hotel (Do Not Stay at the Travelodge Cambridge) and Erin and her girls Charli and Autum came over. We had asked Erin if we could borrow her stow and go playpen and instead she bought us one. It was a lovely gift and we were very excited for Mary to have her own playpen. Then it was off to see my little niece Charli (I call her Chuck) figure skate. She is AWESOME! Chuck is 10 years old and she is fabulously graceful. Something I never achieved on skates and I am now 34. chuck was spinning and jumping and occasionaly falling on her butt. No worries! Chuck is tough and she got right back up and tried again. I was very proud!

On Thursday morning Kate, Mary and I got back in the car and it was off to the Great Grandparents place. We spent a great couple of hours showing off the lovely Mary to Granny and Grandpa and eating pizza that my wondrful Granny bought for our lunch.

Later we were off to Mary's Godfather Warren and his girlfriend's house in Oshawa. We spent a great evening with Warren and Kathy and the next day it was off to Mary's great Auntie Glenna and Great Nanna Eileen's place. We sat and chatted and Auntie Glenna and Nanna held Mary and loved her just like everyone has.

That night we went back to Warren and Kathy's house for Raclette dinner! It was great fun. We ate and drank like royalty and then off to bed so we would be well rested for the trip home to Ottawa. We woke up Saturday and went to a fabulous breakfast spot in Whitby called the Lakeside Diner.

Then we parted ways with Warren and Kathy and drove the 5 hours home.

Mary, Kate and I would like to thank everyone who made our tour a lovely time. The love you showed us made us feel so good.

We didn't get a chance to see everyone we wanted to see (like the elephant man of Bolton--Just kiddin') but we will do it again soon so we can see you all again.

Lot's of love and thanks for the tour stops.

Ryan, Kate and Mary.
